One Magical Christmas campaign
Christmas really did arrive early for us when we were appointed in October, against a number of other design agencies, to brand Leicester City Council’s One Leicester Christmas campaign.
The challenge set by the One Leicester team was to design a Christmas campaign that is multicultural, able to work across many formats and be, above all else, stylish.
At our initial brainstorm we tried to establish what Christmas used to mean to us when we were children and the one word that stood out was ’magical’. From that point the idea grew into a storybook style emphasised by traditional illustrations, utilising a winter colour pallet with ’Christmas red’ highlights and a campaign title of ’One Magical Christmas in Leicester’.
A coordinated approach to the city wide campaign involved working with multiple production teams and delivering artwork to very tight schedules.
The ’One Magical Christmas in Leicester’ campaign has now been rolled out across brochures, an event guide, advertising, street dressing, large format posters and 24 advent towers, making the campaign truly ’magical’.
